John St. Sewer Extension for Town of Friday Harbor, WA: 2009 - This project corrected some chronic problems for the sewer department by replacing several long sewer lateral connections and providing an alternative for properties connected to older deteriorating sewer mains, some of which did not have easements. The project extended 200 LF of 8" gravity sewer up John Street from a point of connection in Argyle Ave. Wayne Haefele & Associates provided plans, specifications and estimates; bidding assistance, inspection and construction management for the project. The Town had chosen to forego borings prior to design, and When unexpected rock was found to occupy much of the alignment, Wayne re-engineered the project in the field to raise the entire line several feet and provided new drawings for the contractor's use . The project was completed in December 2009 at a cost of $52,621.
